We’re Open for Business!

I can’t even begin to express how satisfying it is to be back to work, guiding clients through their remodeling projects, and finally being back on job sites. Thank you for your patience as we adjust to the “new normal” and keep focused on safety. If you’re still working from home or have a little extra time on your hands, now is a great time to give us a call and get your project on the schedule. We are anticipating a higher demand for services as more people spend significant time at home. We can work remotely with you to plan your project and use Zoom or Skype for virtual consultations.

We Are Pivoting to Design and Construct Safely

As we begin to get back to work after a carefully planned reopening, we are committed to the health and safety of our clients, employees, contractors, and vendors. To ensure everyone’s safety, we are continuing virtual design consultations as much as possible. The more planning that we can do without being inside your home, the better we are able to minimize risk. We are continuing initial contact with clients over the phone and then utilizing Zoom and other technology to execute the remaining early planning stages virtually. Here’s an example of Allison giving an update to a homeowner:

Safety Protocols at Your Home

When entering your home to begin to the design and construction process, we will ensure that we have adequate signage and that everyone working on the job site has clearly communicated expectations about safety, social distancing, and sanitation. We expect our workers to maintain six feet of social distance while they are working. Additionally, we will be employing the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for all workers – including masks and gloves. Tools will be sanitized after use.

Our promise to you:

  • We will always be at or above the CDC-recommended safety level for every project
  • We provide signage and follow protocols to keep our clients and our employees safe
  • We bring in Labor & Industries to confirm we are doing everything right and make any recommended changes
  • We have handwashing and sanitizing stations on site at every project
  • Every night when we leave, we disinfect and sanitize the workspace

Our safety and social distancing rules will apply not only to our employees but to any subcontractor or vendor who must come to the construction site. All workers will be screened for symptoms.

Protecting Homeowners

If we are working on a remodeling project while you are living in the home, we do several things to make it safe:

  • We isolate our work area from the rest of the house. In some cases, this means using a different entrance or having a dedicated bathroom for our use. In one recent project, we erected a temporary wall to isolate the living space from the project space.

  • We have accelerated projects. During this time, our schedule has been only minimally disrupted. We have worked hard to ensure that our projects stay on track and we finish strong.

  • We take extra precautions. When necessary and if you are a high-risk client, we can bring in a sanitizing machine to fog the area we are working in.

Communication Is More Important Than Ever

Previously we could allow our clients to wander in and out of the project area without much concern. We now have boundaries in place to ensure safety to all parties involved. However, we do still want you to see your daily progress. Every day we upload photos to our platform for you to look at. Project managers will use FaceTime to communicate any problems that occur on site. Additionally, we sanitize and disinfect the entire project area every time we leave so that you are able to take a look around in the evenings.

Despite the ongoing uncertainty of the pandemic and the civil unrest being experienced in this country, the steps that we are taking allow us to get back to work.

We have often talked about our core values and how those values are the backbone to our approach when it comes to the reopening of the construction industry. We commit to these values:

  • Transparent – details don’t need to be hidden
  • Integrity – do the right thing even when no one is looking
  • Communication – listen first, speak second, seek clarity
  • Collaboration – it takes a village
  • Learning – continuous improvement & quest for knowledge
  • Service – legendary service where good enough is never good enough

We appreciate your patience as we navigate the new demands and requirements that will allow us to resume our work while keeping you safe. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
