This position reports direct to the Director of Operations and is a principal leadership role. Some of the key responsibilities:

  • Oversee the company’s production schedule
  • Oversee the financial success of the projects (15-20 a year)
  • Responsible for the allocation of staff & resources as it pertains to construction
  • Responsible for bench retention & recruitment of trade partners & carpenters
  • Develop and maintain efficiencies, systems and processes for the department
  • Oversee departmental training and lead weekly production department meetings
  • Direct, measure, and report progress towards project and organizational goals
  • Hire, manage and evaluate production  – (1) Assistant Project Manager, (1) staff carpenter and plan additional staff, as needed
  • Project Manage 2-4 projects per year

Required Experience / Skills:

  • Extensive experience in residential construction, estimating, budgeting and oversight a must
  • Managerial background a must
  • Must have a college degree or trade school training and be detail oriented and well organized
  • Professionalism and above average communication skills
  • Comfortable with technology
  • Ability to read & interpret blueprints
  • Valid WA state drivers license & reliable transportation

We offer competitive wage & benefits:

  • Salaries are within top 10% of market ($85-105k plus bonuses based on performance)
  • Eligible for profit sharing bonus after 6 months

The lead carpenter’s main focus and mission is to provide the necessary craftsmanship, oversight and leadership to produce on time, on budget projects resulting in delighted clients. You create order out of potential chaos, inspire our trade contractors to deliver their best effort every day and communicate value and competence to each and every client.

A Summary of Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand blueprint drawings and written specifications as well as other construction paperwork
  • Perform rough and finish carpentry to company’s standard of quality according to plans and specifications. This includes the ability to do layout, framing, siding, install cabinets, trim, windows and doors
  • Have some experience with drywall
  • Being able to do simple repairs in plumbing, electrical and flooring
  • Interact with poise & confidence with internal team, Owner, Architects & trade partners
  • Able to meet and work the building inspectors
  • Ensure jobsite safety, maintain a safe jobsite
  • Dust & weather protection and client comfort

We take great pride in our work and are very particular about the trade partners that we invite onto our projects.  Many of our partners have been with us for 5-10 years, and we strive to have a bench of at least two partners for any given trade. We have high expectations and ask you to adhere to our predetermined schedules and always arrive with a good attitude and willingness to do a great job.  In exchange, we promise to deliver a clean jobsite that is ready when we say it will be ready, with clear instructions and plans provided. We always pay our partners quickly.
