Cottage Lake, the lake for which the community is named, covers 63 acres of the land in the area. The majority of the lake’s shoreline is surrounded by private homes.
At the north end of the lake, you’ll find Cottage Lake Park, which features a public access beach with a large dock that stretches out into the water.
There is much to enjoy about Cottage Lake, but it all begins with a visit to the waterfront at Cottage Lake Park. The park is a great place to go for a picnic or while away a morning or afternoon bird watching.
Because the lake covers 63 acres, it’s a popular spot for kayaking and canoeing. The park boasts family-friendly areas like an outdoor pool, covered picnic areas, basketball courts, and a high ropes course. There are also several public trails for walking.

People love to live in Cottage Lake because of the easy access to city life down the road and excellent fishing right in their own back yard. The lake is well-stocked with black crappie, brown bullhead, coastal cutthroat trout, largemouth bass, rainbow trout, and yellow perch. It’s a great lake to fish from if you’re participating in the annual Trout Derby, which runs from April through October.
