Host the Best Super Bowl Party

Ready to show off your newly remodeled space that just begs for company? There’s still time to throw together everything you need for a great get together for the Super Bowl – even if you don’t like football! Just because the Seahawks didn’t make it to the big game this year doesn’t mean it’s not a perfect day to gather a group of friends and have some fun. Here’s our guide to throwing the best Super Bowl party in the neighborhood.

It’s All About the Food

Whether you’re watching for the game or the ads, the one thing everyone can agree on is that there needs to be plenty of food. Make sure you have plenty of finger foods, including chips and dips. From nachos and pizza to tons of munchies, food plays a central role in the big day. Everyone’s eyes will be on the TV, so grab some disposable game-day tablecloths and cover your dining room table and coffee table and set out trays of foods, bowls of chips, and plenty of napkins. Skip the good china and go for the football-shaped paper plates from the party store this year – it will make cleanup a cinch. A crockpot can help keep dishes like Italian meatballs warm (serve them with a toothpick for easy munching).

Cheers!

IPAs, stouts, imports, and domestics – be sure to stock up on a selection of beer as well as a variety of non-alcoholic drink options. If your fridge is packed tight with food, fill the cooler with ice and stick the drinks in it to keep them cold and handy. Looking for something unusual to serve? Put a gallon of lime sherbet in a punchbowl and pour sprite over it. It’s a hit every time. Looking for something spiked? Try Pat Neely’s Super Bowl punch. You can get the recipe here.

Keep the Décor Simple

All eyes will be on the TV, so don’t spend a lot of time on decorations. Add some splashes of color to support your team but focus more on the comfort of your guests. Put away any extra clutter – throw pillows you don’t want stained with pizza grease or precious knick knacks you don’t want to have broken in the heat of the moment. Add plenty of extra seating – bring in the camping chairs, the bean bag chairs, and even the office chairs to make sure there’s enough room for everyone.

Consider the Kids

If there will be kids around, be sure to have some game-day entertainment for them so that they don’t get bored. Set up a nearby room with video games, board games, and music where older kids can hang out. Make sure to have kid-friendly snacks, too, like string cheese and juice boxes.

Hosting a Super Bowl party is a great time to show off your new space. If you struggle with hosting because your kitchen is closed off from the rest of the house, your dining room has become a storage area, or your home is outdated and you’re embarrassed to have company, give us a call. You and the Seahawks have a whole year to get ready for Super Bowl LV!
