Nip Tuck Remodeling takes a look back at 2023

Nip Tuck Remodeling Year in Review: 2023 Recap

year in review - january

We always love looking back at what we did and accomplished throughout the year. We started 2023 by encouraging homeowners to worry less about trends and more about what makes sense for their homes in terms of aesthetics and functionality. We recognize that sometimes, it’s better to remodel and stay in a neighborhood you love rather than move – and it can be more cost-effective, too. Some trends have become mainstays – like home offices. And we really focused on the kitchen is almost always the heart of the home.

For Your Inspiration - the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show

In February, Allison, Brian, and Emma headed to the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Vegas to discover the latest trends and bring inspiration back to Nip Tuck’s clients. During the show, they were inspired by new design ideas, new technologies, new colors, new trends – and they came home with fabulous new thoughts to share with homeowners who are getting ready for a design-remodel or are preparing to book one. Women in Construction

year in review - march

As a woman-owned design build firm, we celebrated the 25th anniversary of Women in Construction Week. It is truly remarkable to celebrate how far women have come in this industry.  WIC Week™, or Women in Construction Week™, celebrates and promotes the role of women in the construction industry. NAWIC held the first WIC Week in 1998 and it has grown and expanded each year since. Nip Tuck is not only woman-owned but employs many professional women. Meet the women of Nip Tuck here.

Team Building Is Always a Priority

We experienced an amazing teambuilding event at Lawless Forge and had a great time making barbecue forks – just in time for the great weather for backyard barbecuing!

On Time, On Budget, On Purpose - the Secret to Success

year in review - may

April Bettinger was featured in the 100th issue of 425 Business, which focused on Women in Business. In the interview, April talked about achieving success in a male-dominated industry and how her success has allowed her to give back to her community. “On time, on budget, on purpose — the purpose part is what it’s all about, and so that’s, I think, what attracts our clients is, the purposeful planning, purposeful execution, the purposeful thought into their designs, and really being unique to them. “ Read about Nip Tuck Remodeling’s philosophy, passion, and philanthropy in 425 Business.

Celebrating Excellence!

The Remodeling Excellence (REX) and Trades Remodeling Excellence (T-REX) Awards were presented by the Remodelers Council of the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties (MBAKS), the oldest remodelers council in the nation. Nip Tuck Remodeling was privileged to receive two awards: the REX Award for Bath Excellence $90,000 to $140,000 and the REX Award for Design Excellence, Specialty Details & Finishes.  Read more: https://niptuckremodel.com/nip-tuck-remodeling-earns-two-rex-awards/

Creative Approach Earns Recognition

Nip Tuck Remodeling’s project, Mid-Century Modern Remodel in Clyde Hill, which was also selected as a 2023 REX Award recipient for Bath Excellence received a prestigious Chrysalis Award for the whole-house remodel. This project required our team to overcome the challenge of needing more light in the kitchen without the structural ability to raise the ceiling height. To address this challenge, we formulated a creative workaround – one generous skylight well with three skylights, giving the illusion of a taller ceiling in the kitchen.  See our Chrysalis award-winning project here.

Rampathon

Each year, MBAKS members and community volunteers head to homes throughout King and Snohomish counties to build wheelchair access ramps. For free. Because our neighbors in need deserve the same freedoms we have. Since 1993, MBAKS members have provided more than 600 ramps. These ramps provide a much-needed benefit for individuals and families who struggle to get themselves or their loved ones safely in and out of their homes. This year, Nip Tuck Remodeling was proud to participate in

Hot Kitchen Trends

year in review - september

Nip Tuck designer Allison Scott was featured in 425 Magazine to discuss her takes on hot kitchen trends. While trends come and go, some shifts in design make sense, including better lighting and storage. Appliance garages are one of her favorite trends, since they keep the counters less cluttered and make the kitchen more open and welcoming. “As a certified designer, it’s important to strive for not only beautiful kitchens and baths, but those that are safe, functional, and buildable.”

Many things have changed since April launched her business in 2010, but we have a lot to be proud of as one of the premier design-build remodeling firms serving the Eastside. Over the years, the industry – and our company – has changed, but the one thing that has not changed is our ongoing commitment to our clients. We took the opportunity to interview April and get her perspective on what’s changed with the company and the industry. You can read her interview here.
