The 2023 REX/T-REX Awards is the Pacific Northwest’s premier event celebrating the art of the remodel. This year’s theme was Kentucky Derby and our Nip Tuck Remodeling team was in attendance, enjoying delicious food and cocktails and having a wonderful time celebrating everyone’s successes.
The Remodeling Excellence (REX) and Trades Remodeling Excellence (T-REX) Awards were presented by the Remodelers Council of the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties (MBAKS), the oldest remodelers council in the nation. Nip Tuck Remodeling was privileged to receive two awards: the REX Award for Bath Excellence $90,000 to $140,000 and the REX Award for Design Excellence, Specialty Details & Finishes.
“It is a huge honor to be recognized by our peers for the work we do. These projects showcase the wide range of talented team members we have who are able to deliver above and beyond our clients’ visions for their homes,” said April Bettinger, owner of Nip Tuck Remodeling. “I want to recognize the amazing talent within our local remodelers council as a whole and the impressive things we are doing here in the Pacific Northwest. We are grateful to be part of this community.”
Nip Tuck Remodeling Receives 2023 REX Award for Bath Excellence $90,000 to $140,000
Project: Zen Bathroom for 2
This primary suite remodel was part of a major whole-house renovation of a large ranch style home. The existing dark and dated space was transformed into a modern oasis with light and bright finishes and an oversized skylight, modernizing the look with natural light and an easy-breezy California-inspired palette.

Project: Calm & Sophisticated
As a part of this whole-home remodeling project, we created a space for a 2,600-pound custom aquarium, around which we then built cabinetry. The saltwater tank required plenty of support beneath, with access above for servicing the tank and feeding the fish. This was accomplished with a face frame and attaching doors, so all was hidden yet accessible. The flanking cabinets were designed for storage as well as a means for housing additional components and providing a smurf tube access for the TV. The open cabinets were clad with walnut backs to match the homeowner’s custom kitchen.
We are so proud of our entire Nip Tuck team – as well as our partners, colleagues, and vendors – for the commitment and dedication they bring to every project. We extend our gratitude to the Remodelers Council of the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties for their recognition of our work, and we congratulate all of the other REX and T-REX award winners. Above all, however, we are grateful to our clients who continue to entrust us with the vision they have for their homes.See more of our award-winning projects here.
