Bellevue Entertaining Kitchen Remodel

These clients desperately wanted to transform their primary bath into a spacious, spa-like retreat.
Challenge
There is nothing more frustrating than trying to function in a space that is just too small, and for these homeowners, their kitchen just wasn’t cutting it. The tiny, enclosed kitchen of this Bellevue home cramped our clients’ style and their ability to enjoy cooking and entertaining family and friends.
- Open up the space and reconfigure the kitchen to feel more bright and airy.
- Create a layout that highlighted the gorgeous outdoor views that were currently being hidden.
- Find a way to bring the living and dining rooms together with the kitchen space.
Solution
The Nip Tuck Remodeling Team transformed this space by opening up the rooms, removing walls between the kitchen, family room and dining area. To brighten up the space, we added a wall of windows that showcase the stunning natural view. Creating a multipurpose spot was important for our homeowners. So we incorporated a table-height black countertop beneath one of the large windows, creating a breakfast bar. That rich ebony was carried over in accents like the dark-stained toe-kicks, window frames and black leather chairs and stools.
We finished the look with a striking backsplash wall featuring crisp white hexagonal glazed tile and maple floating shelves, as well as a gorgeous stainless steel vent hood. To add to the modern streamlined look, custom refrigerator and freezer drawers eliminated the need for a large appliance taking up space. Handleless cabinets complete the look with a custom cover pane for the kitchen’s dishwasher.
