Award-Winning Bath - Lakeview Relaxation
You cannot beat that view! In an already beautiful home, this master suite was ready for an update. The clients wanted to modernize the look, while making the shower more accessible. We removed curved walls, and the enclosed cave-like shower in favor of a more spacious and open feeling. This bathroom won the 2020 MBA REX Award for Bathroom Excellence and 2020 NKBA Puget Sound Award for Honorary Best Before & After.
Award-Winning Heirloom Kitchen
This kitchen was nationally recognized and won the First Place Chrysalis Award for the Large Kitchen category! The Nip Tuck team redesigned and enlarged the kitchen of this 1980s home by taking over the formal dining room and repurposing the unused formal living room into the new spacious dining room. The team then strategically shrunk the living room to make for an appealing dining room. The pièce-de-résistance was the creation of a permanent home for a family heirloom – a cobbler’s block from the 1800s that the homeowner grew up with and inherited. This sentimental space was also awarded 2nd Place for the 2020 NKBA Puget Sound Large Kitchen award.
Entertaining Kitchen
This remodel was inspired by our client’s love for modern architecture, the purity of natural wood and their desire to cook and entertain with friends and family. Large parties of 20 or more are not unheard of in this client’s household and the old kitchen was cramped and completely closed off. By removing walls, closets and built-ins we were able to open up the space and combine the kitchen and dining room for one hard working, beautiful space. Featured during the 2020 Remodeled Homes Tour, this kitchen was a fan favorite.
Dream Laundry Room
This laundry space is more than just a place for cleaning clothes. It is intended to act as laundry, gift wrapping station, and an actual desk space for our client. It needed to be light and bright and she wanted it to be playful with some sort of bold statement. The desk is built in at the entrance to the space with a pull-out mouse pad and file drawers and all the outlets were replaced with under cabinet strip outlets for lots of power and a very clean backsplash. Quartz countertops with a classy veining were used to compliment the white cabinetry and the patterned floor added just the right amount of fun she was dreaming of. The beautiful statement window in the room ties the space together and is now fully visible from the entry. One of our most popular spaces, this laundry room received a 2020 MBA REX Award in the “Get Away Rooms” category and the 2020 NKBA 1st Place award in the “Other Rooms” category.
Let There Be Color
The frustration of furnishing a formal dining room that nobody ever visits was at the heart of this remodel. We were asked to find a way to connect the two spaces creating an inviting and more casual space while maintaining full functionality of the kitchen. Marrying special details with maximum storage and display space made for a fun, personalized space that’s ready for a party! Opening the space also allowed the large decorative window in the dining to spread natural light into the kitchen. Our client has already tested it several times and happy to report that the new table is a great success! This fun and colorful space won the 2019 REX Award for Kitchen Excellence
Serenity in Blue
This style resistant master bathroom dreamed of becoming the award-winning spa it was meant to be. Fixtures remained in their same locations but got a HUGE upgrade in design and function. The step was removed to allow for better flow and access to the now freestanding tub. This tub now has a lovely view of the large wavy tiled shower or the custom designed display niche with LED backlit panels that not only brighten the area but allow for display. With the makeup area and calm blue mosaic tiles, this bathroom rivals any spa! Another fan favorite, this bathroom was the 2018 NKBA Puget Sound People’s Choice Award Winner.
A Twist on a Classic Look
Once a Street of Dreams home, this master bathroom was cloaked in granite, mirror, and carpet. It was ready for an update. Since this shower can be seen from the hall, the client wanted to make a statement and was driven to simplify the rest to get it! This shower is a focal point with the dramatic patterned tile, double shower heads and custom his/her niches. To fit the budget the cabinetry was upcycled with taller toe kicks, added open shelving, and a fresh coat of paint. For further interest, we added a simple, yet elegant board-and-batten detail around the tub and trimmed each mirror. The NKBA Puget Sound 1st Place Large Bathroom award went to this space in 2018.
Sammamish Spa Retreat
This master bath exudes tranquility from the moment you enter the space. Creamy paint, a cozy heated floor, and a sculpted tile feature wall greet you warmly, inviting you in. Every inch of the room has purpose and has been thoughtfully planned out to meet our client’s wishes. Our clients had recently purchased this Sammamish rambler, and making significant changes to the master suite was top on the list. In 2017, this relaxing space won the REX Award for Bathroom
High Rise with a View
Although we rarely remodel condos, this was too fun of a project to resist! Located on the 24th floor of a high rise in downtown Seattle, this condo welcomes you with neutral tones, clean lines, and a new modern aesthetic to compliment the 180-degree view of the Seattle waterfront and the Space Needle. This trendy kitchen was the 2016 REX Award Winner for Kitchen Excellence
Modern Oasis
This project started with a minimal budget to replace the shower, only to discover that what the client really wanted was to explore the design possibilities of the space and create a luxurious spa-like bathroom. Removing the partition wall to the shower room, as well as deleting the soaking tub, allowed us to fully utilize the space for a much more spacious experience. Amenities such as under-cabinet lighting and a heated floor that runs into the shower create ambience and comfort. The wall-mounted vanities with built-up stone sinks and the 3D stone feature wall bring in nature and complete the spa feel we sought to create. This unique master bath as the 2015 REX Award Winner in 2015 for Bath Excellence.
