Medina Cottage on the Course

Whole-Home

Thoughtfully Preserved, Beautifully Transformed

Challenge

This 1960s ranch had strong original character, but the floor plan no longer fit the needs of the family. The kitchen was tucked away at the back of the house and faced the wrong direction, the main living areas felt broken up by walls, and the sunken living room disrupted the flow through the home. Beyond the layout issues, the home also lacked several essential spaces the family needed, including a true pantry, a functional laundry room, a private office, and updated baths for both children.

Solution

Nip Tuck Remodeling reimagined the home from the inside out by raising the sunken floor, removing the powder room, and reorienting the kitchen toward the golf course. Walls came down, large sliding doors opened the living room to the outdoors, and a 77-square-foot addition created a proper laundry room, craft area, and walk-in pantry, while the private spaces were redesigned to better support the family’s daily routines.

Result

The finished home feels open, connected, and tailored to the family’s lifestyle, while still preserving the cottage character they loved. The kitchen now faces the fairway, the exterior reads seamless and cohesive, and every space works harder without losing the charm that made the house worth saving.
