We were invited into this home to remodel the main floor which ultimately consisted of a complete revamp of the kitchen, family room, powder room, entry and entry staircase. The home was built in 2003 in an upscale Issaquah neighborhood.
Our clients envisioned a light and bright kitchen and wanted to eliminate all the dark, heavy cabinetry & stone in the original design.
Improvements in the layout included moving the cook-top off the island to the outside wall, re-configuring the refrigerator wall and incorporating specialty storage everywhere we could. In the family room, we replaced the gas fireplace with a modern, linear version and re-configured the built ins for a lighter look and more balanced design.
The powder room went from a very traditional space to a spectacular transitional design with a floating vanity, under-cabinet lighting and shimmery tile & wallpaper.
Lastly, we replaced all the hardwood flooring with a rich, hand-scraped walnut floor, reconfigured the entry stairs to update them with Walnut rails and mission style posts. The entry light fixture had been something our clients had searched for years….the designer sourced a spectacular hand blown fixture from John Pomp for it’s unusual design and custom look.
